I was also charged for items that were not quoted. In my case they tried to charge me £1200 for their insurance cost for my ring whilst it was with them. I refused to pay (as the ring was already comprehensively insured by me and they knew that, moreover they had never quoted a cost of insurance cover when they quoted for their service). They were rude, arrogant and took me to the Small Claims Court. They provided a wrong address for me (more dishonest behaviour) so a CCJ was entered against me in my absence. I appealed as soon as I found out and the CCJ was overturned but these are dishonest money grabbing people and are best avoided.
